Leather. Tips to remove stains on Leather

If you have a stain on your leather, leather shirts, jacket, pants, shorts, shoes or any type of leather item your best option is to take the item to a dry cleaner, a professional who has experience in cleaning leather. Because leather is a natural product you have to be careful as a many types of cleaners will change the look of the leather altogether and it will then be ruined. This can be costly so you might want to consider how much you value this leather item before taking it to a professional.

i realise you cant take your couch to the dry cleaner but what can you do?any ideas?

TipKing says: Baby wipes are great for removing everyday stains and grime from my cream leather sofa. The alcohol and oils in the baby wipes seem to shift all sorts of horid marks.

You're Kidding Right? Comments By: Kari
Your suggestion was about as ridiculous as ridiculous gets. Yes, I'll just load the couch in my 2 seater car and take it to the dry cleaner. Better yet? I'll ask the dry cleaner to make a house call. Suggestion: If you don't have a useful suggestion for a particular topic, don't list the topic! Waste of my Google time!

clean leather furniture of body perspiration Comments By: Anon
It is advised to clean your furniture with fabric softner and water, half a cap softner to two litres luke warm water. Use a soft cotton cloth dunked in the water and fabric softner, do NOT have cloth dripping wet but still have it nice and wet, give a good rub over the item and then let dry. After it has dried spray with leather treatment. This should be done twice a year to keep your furniture from cracking and rotting from perspiration. I had a leather sofa for over 20 years and it was still in great condition(no cracks)when I sold it.
