Usually used to simulate fine wool. It is a synthetic material soft and durable and easier tc wash than wool, Follow the care label on the garment — it can usually be machine washed on code 6. Beware, however, of using too high washing temperatures, anything above 4000/104 F will set in creases that never come out.
It is sensible to wash acrylic garments often, and well, before the dirt becomes impregnated. To wash by hand (some acrylic/wool mixes need treating this way) use warm water, but be careful in handling while wet. Do not twist or agitate too much.
A cold rinse will help to stop any creasing in acrylics, but be sure either to do a very short spin, or to treat as wool and lay between towels and then roll, or you will put fresh creases in.
Do not hang up to drip-dry, or the garment will be lengthened by its own weight. Dry as for wool, flat.
Never iron acrylic when it is slightly damp, otherwise it will stretch out of shape. Wait patiently until it is completely dry.
If the fabric is pleated, then rinse in warm water and drip-dry. Do not bleach.
