Fabric care of Corduroy

Submitted by Peter

A very hard wearing fabric with a soft, velvety raised pile. It is used for upholstery and for garments. Made from a cotton or a cotton mix. Best washed by hand according to the mixture. Rough treatment when wet will harm the pile. Do not wring or twist. While the material is drying, smooth the pile in the right direction with a soft clean cloth. Shake well. Iron on the wrong side while still slightly damp using a warm iron.

How do you iron corduroy pants on the wrong side?
TipKing says: You just turn the trousers inside out!

Linty Cords Comments By: Regina
Some coruroy fabric seems lintier than others. Does anyone know of any way to stop them from collecting so much extra lint? (Besides turning them inside out for washing/drying, that doesn't prevent them from collecting lint during wear...)
