Fabric care of Linen

An expensive fabric, as it is made from natural fiber flax, linen is very strong and hard-wearing and is used for table cloths and napkins as well as garments. It is possible to wash colorfast linen on codes 1 or 2 but check the care label. If you want to hand wash, use hot soapy water and treat as cotton. Linen can be boiled to restore its whiteness, but it may shrink. Iron with a hot iron on the wrong side when still damp, as this is the only way to get the creases out. Once the fabric is dry, creases are impossible to remove.
