Fabric care of Satin

A luxurious, smooth, shiny fabric, originally made from~ closely woven silk fibers, but now more often, and more cheaply, made from synthetic fibers. Dress satin can usually be washed according to the fiber it is made of. The heavier upholstery satin must be dry cleaned. Iron with a cool iron on the wrong side while still damp to restore the shiny finish.
