Baking soda for acid indegestion

Baking Soda is safe and effective as an antacid to alleviate heartburn, sour stomach and/or acid indigestion. Just mix a teaspoon in a glass of warm water and it will get to work.

One of my packets of Baking Soda (Bicarbonate of Soda) had the following recommendations regarding dosage for oral use as an antacid..

Adults, the elderly and children over the age of 12, dissolve one level 5ml spoonful of powder in warm water. Take up to 4 times a day.

Do not take baking soda internally if you have low calcium levels, reduced stomach acid, congestive heart failure, kidney damage or cirrhosis of the liver, high blood pressure, too alkaline body fluids, if taking any steroid medicine or if pregnant or breast feeding except on a doctors advice. Not recommended for children under the age of 12 years of age.

Was in so much pain thought I would have to go to Accident and emergency! None of my home medications worked. Then I thought to look up on the internet for anything else to use and found this. Mixed up the baking soda in a quarter cup of warm water and drank it. Less than 5 minutes later NO PAIN. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Gas X Mylanta is nothing but hocus pocus.

I spent months pouring that crap down my gut with little to no relief and if they could corner the market on baking soda it would cost $20.00 a box.

Works great, the taste however is rather unpleasant.

This is fantastic!! I was doubled over in pain with indigestion and none of the usual remedies were working. It's certainly worth the disgusting taste because the relief was almost instant. Like magic!
