Removing carpet upholstery stains with borax

Submitted by D.E.P.

Borax, (20 Mule Team or any other brand you can find), is great for removing most stains from carpeting and upholstery.

I use about one, rounded tsp. of borax dissolved in about 2 or 3 Tbsp. of warm water. Use an old washrag to scrub the borax solution into the stain. It may take more than one application to remove old stubborn stains.

You can either let it dry or rinse the area you've cleaned with water & a fresh cloth. It'll save you the cost of buying special rug cleaning chemicals that occasionally don't work & usually have a hideous odor.
