Okay, I had a cold sore pop up on my lip last
night. By the time I got to work the blister was huge! I applied a tea bag to
the area for 10 or so minutes as often as I could whilst I was at work. When I
got home I popped all of the blisters using a needle I had put in boling water,
then I applied ice to the affected area (well, it was some peas to be honest,
but it worked just as well), when the ice had melted I put some bleach (I didn't
dilute it as bleach doesn't really affect me, but if you have sensitive skin
this is not advised) onto a piece of kitchen towel and held it on the coldsore
for 30 seconds.
I then gently wiped the area with a face wipe (unscented brands
such as Simple work best), I then soaked a cotton bud in some mouthwash and held
it to the area for 3-5 minutes. I have a fat lip from this method, but the
blisters have not re-appeared and appear to be forming new skin. I have tried
this remedy many times. The coldsore will scab overnight, in the morning, apply
more mouthwash to the area and the sore should be gone by the next day with no
scarring at all.
Good luck!
