If you have a mains electricity supply from an electricity company, the company has a statutory obligation to maintain the electricity it supplies you with to the proper voltage. If you get periods of low voltage, contact the company.
Electricity companies do not have an absolute obligation to supply you with electricity. They may cut it off at any time, such as to make repairs or if you do not pay your bill. Compensation is not normally payable.
Consider from time to time whether you could get your electricity cheaper by changing to another tariff. The company will advise you on request.
If you have a complaint about an electricity company, get in touch with the management. If you get no satisfaction from them, complain to the office of Electricity Regulation (OFFER), who have a consumer complaints panel. (See the phone book or back of bills for the address.)
