To reduce creasing, remove clothes from the dryer and hang them up as soon as possible. Since most of the laundry is stored in or near the bedroom, do your sorting on the bed. If the seams or pockets on jeans or other sportswear are slightly damp and rucked, pull on them and flatten them with your fingers; then let them air-dry before putting them away. This can often save you ironing time.
Fold towels lengthwise first so that you don't have to refold them when you hang them on the rack in the bathroom.
Try this method for folding fitted sheets:
- Fold in half, bringing the fitted ends together; at each corner align the fitted edges and fold one over the other.
- Fold in half again, bringing one matched set of corners to the other; fold one set of corners over the other set.
- Then fold as usual, smoothing the edges as you go.
