Keep moths away from stored clothes. Wash the clothes first, or have them dry-cleaned, then seal in polythene bags with adhesive tape. Before you seal woollen clothes, spray them with a moth killer - but be sure to air them before wearing them.
Keep moths away from drawers by sprinkling moth-repellent crystals on the bottoms, or use herbal sachets (see above). Hang an insecticidal strip in cupboards to kill adult moths.
If you find clothes with moth larvae or eggs, take them out of the cupboard and iron them, if possible. The heat will kill the moths.
Vacuum infested carpets and spray with moth killer. Throw away the bag. If possible, lift up the carpets and sprinkle moth-repellent crystals on the floor and between any cracks in the boards.
Protect upholstered furniture with a mothproofer spray.
