If your electric oven isn't working, check to see that all the controls are set properly. If they are, see if a fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped
Never use a commercial oven cleaner in a self or continuous-cleaning oven. If you accidentally apply one, clean the oven thoroughly before using it again: apply full-strength white vinegar to the oven surfaces with a sponge, then rinse with warm water. Next, for a self-cleaning oven, run a full self-clean cycle. For a continuous-cleaning oven, heat the oven to 200°C/400°F for 1 hour. Rinse either type with warm water after it has cooled.
Keep your oven as clean as possible by covering roasting tins with foil to contain splashing fat. Stand dishes that are likely to spill over during baking on a baking tray. Always use a tray at the bottom of the oven to catch drips-unless your oven has heating elements on the bottom.
For an oven that is not self-cleaning, spread a thin paste of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and water on the oven floor and sides. It will absorb fat and splashed food and will come off easily when you next clean the oven.
