All phobias represent a fear of losing control. To conquer yours, don't flee from it or the situation that brings on an anxiety attack. Accept it and control it; watch it happen and rate its intensity on a scale of 1 to 10
If you feel an attack coming on in a public place, try to act as though you're not anxious at all. Breathe normally but more slowly; focus intently on something specific, such as a window display or the directions printed on a package.
Develop a ritual that gives you the illusion of being in control. If you're afraid to fly, for example, always carry a good-luck charm and sit in the same seat on the plane.
Find a sympathetic person, preferably a recovered phobic, to help rid you of your phobia.
