If you can't get a price label off, peel away as much paper as you can, and then soften the residue. On china, enamel and glass, apply white spirit or methylated spirits; on plastic or painted surfaces, a hot rag or hair dryer; on metals, nail varnish remover; on fruits and vegetables, vegetable oil. Scrape off the softened residue with a dull knife, a coin, a letter opener or your fingernail.
