If you're about to quarrel with someone close to you, try one of these releases:
Stop and count how many deep breaths you can take in 3 minutes.
Call someone and talk about your feelings. Don't involve the outsider in the argument, but talking to him will help to relieve the tension and may give you a different perspective on the problem.
Escape to a quiet room, even the bathroom, for at least 15 minutes, with an apple and a magazine. Chewing and reading often relieve tension.
Write down your feelings or let out your frustration through singing, painting or a musical instrument, if you play one.
If you still want to fight, take vigorous physical activity - put on an exercise tape, beat up a pillow, go for a fast walk, kick a ball round the garden or hit a tennis ball against a wall.
