Non-washable garments must be dry-cleaned, but washable fabrics with rust stains can be treated in one of several ways:

Rub a paste of salt and vinegar into the stain; leave it to stand for 30 minutes, then wash as usual.

Soak the rust stain in lemon juice, then dry the garment in the sun to bleach it; rinse thoroughly.

Work a paste of cream of tartar and hot water into the stain; leave it to set, then wash as usual.

Boil five stalks of rhubarb (cut into ½/13mm pieces) in 1 pint/570ml of water until soft; pour the hot liquid over the stain. Wash as usual.

Use a commercial rust stain remover if these suggestions fail to shift the marks.

Good or Bad!

Almost five stars no rubarb

All tips are logical and understandable. However, I have no
rubarb but do have the ingredients for the first three options.
The garment is a white cotton jersey.
