If you've lost the sales receipt for merchandise you want to return, don't despair.
If the price sticker is intact, it will sometimes be accepted in lieu of a receipt.
If you have a credit account with a shop, they will probably let you return the item in exchange for credit.
Shops where you don't have a credit account will usually give a credit voucher for the amount to be spent at that shop only.
Exchanging an unwanted gift can be a problem, but if you keep the container and packing material, they might help you convince the shop manager to refund the purchase price, or at least to exchange it for something you would prefer to have.
