Shower curtains and doors - Hints and tips

Make your plastic shower curtain more pliable by dipping it in warm water to which you have added a few drops of oil.

Protect your new shower curtain by hanging the old one behind it to take the soaking. Wash both frequently to prevent mildew.

To remove mildew from cotton duck shower curtains, use a solution of chlorine bleach and water.

To remove water and soap marks from glass shower doors, rub with a sponge dampened with vinegar. Or gently scrape with a craft knife.

If the shower doors don't slide smoothly, first clean the tracks with a brush and dull knife or screwdriver; use a cotton swab or toothbrush to reach nooks and crannies. Then wash with ammonia or a strong detergent solution. After the tracks dry, spray with a silicone lubricant. (But protect the bath-tub - the spray will make it slippery.)
