If your full slip has become worn at the top, cut it in half, sew elastic into the waist and create a new half-slip.
At a pinch, you can improvise a full slip, albeit a short one, by pinning it to the bottom of your bra.
If your white slip is a dingy grey and bleach doesn't whiten it, darken it. Soak it in cold, strong, black tea until it's a shade darker than you want. Rinse in cold water and leave it to dry.
Prevent nylon slips from going grey with correct washing - use the right temperature and quantity of detergent, and always separate all whites from coloured clothes.
If your slip constantly rides up, sew felt or trim around the inside hem to give it weight. Or wear it inside-out.
