Delicate Washables Soak. Make your own Delicate Washables Soak

Save on dry cleaning expenses and keep fine fabrics looking new with this recipe for a solution to soak your delicate laundry items with.

To make 1 soak

• 8 tablespoons soap flakes or grated soap ends
• 16 floz/450ml soft water (from a filter jug if your tap water is hard)
• 2 tablespoons borax

Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer over a low heat, stirring, until the solution develops an even consistency. Strain into a jar or jug, cover and store. To use, add enough soap solution to warm water to make good suds. Use cold water for wool, and only soak delicates for a few minutes.
