Here's a good home made furniture cleaner for wiping up sticky marks. Mix 1 tablespoon turpentine, and 3 tablespoons boiled linseed oil to a quart of hot water.
Mix well and allow to cool. Wring a soft cloth in the solution and wipe where needed. Dry at once with a clean soft cloth and rub to polish.
