Sensitive Teeth. Reduce the pain of sensitive teeth

Within your teeth is a porous tissue called dentin. Under normal circumstances this is protected by your gums and your teeth's hard enamel shell. When you suffer with sensitive teeth it is more than likely that this protection is reduced. Microscopic holes in the dentin called tubules, allow heat, cold and other irritants to be transmitted back to the tooth nerve triggering pain.

The dentin layer can become exposed due to, receding gums caused by improper brushing or gum disease, fractured, chipped teeth or clenching or grinding your teeth or just old age.

There are many toothpastes on the market that will offer reduction in symptoms however you may well find that brushing your teeth with hot or very warm water will keep those pains away!
