If you have favorite paint brushes that you clean and reuse often - try this: After cleaning them in paint thinner, store them with a thick rubber band around the bristles. This will helps the bristles stay in place so you can use yoru favorite brush again!

Another additional tip Comments By: DIY_Lady on 2004-07-23 Use hair conditioner on brushes that have been cleaned using thinners/chemicals after rinsing first with water. This will keep the brush soft. Rinse thoroughly before using next time.   Bends bristles Comments By: Julie B on 2009-01-29 That sounds like a good idea in theory but in practice the bristles bunch up with an elastic band around them. Why not just store with tin foil around the bristles as will protect the bristles and keep the brush clean.
