When you wash an item that has an odor that you would rather not live with. Put half a cup of vinegar in the wash. It should remove the smell.

not true for all smells Comments By: L I have a pair of jeans that smell of mildew and I used vinegar and it didn't even take the smell out. I even tried to dry clean the jeans and the smell is still there.
