Do you have access to some sawdust? You can learn to make great sawdust toys using this reciped: 

Mix up 1-cup sawdust, 1/2-cup flour and 1/2-cup water.

Mix together well and then form this dough into a desired shape, making sure there are not cracks, if you see cracks keep smoothing over. Let your shapes dry for 7 to 10 days until they are totally dry. Paint or decorate as you like. Since this is a wood, it is not suitable for ashtrays or anything that may make it burn.
