Hairpins Apple bobbing

Let your guests bob for apples without getting wet. Insert hairpins into the tops of a dozen apples, leaving part of each pin exposed. Then thread a string through the hairpin loops and hang the apples from a broomstick suspended between two chairs.

apple bobbing Comments By: Deb Vitale on 2004-09-17 This tip is not at all clear to me. I just picture apples hanging from a broom stick between chairs. How do the kids get the apples?I don't think that hairpins will be able to hold up the weight of an apple for long.
