Ironging. Tip if your iron plate is stained or sticky

If the base of your iron is stained or sticky, unplug and rub with a cloth dipped in vinegar or methylated spirit.

I think it depends on what your iron base is made out of. I tried the vinegar which helped a little with a lot of rubbing but vinegar and baking soda worked better for my particular iron.
