Removing leftover candle wax from holders

Submitted by Lisa

When I am done with a candle and it is time to replace it, I boil a pot of water and gently drop in the candle holder. When the wax is soft, I take the holder out with tongs or pot holders (it will be hot) and then wipe it out while it is still hot. Then it is good as new and ready for a fresh candle.

I have found that if you put the item with the candle wax in the freezer for a day or more, it becomes very hard and is easier to peel/chip away.

This tip is great! I always wondered how to get the old wax out of candle holders! It only takes less than a minute in the water for the wax to soften.
