Inexpensive Scented Carpet Powder can be made by placing some baking soda in a brown paper bag and add a couple of sprays of your favorite perfume. Shake it up and let it sit for a couple of hours. When you're ready to use it, hold the top firmly closed while poking a few holes in the bottom of the bag. Then just use the bag like a shaker over the carpet.
