When you pack, make a list of everything in the suitcase (3 shirts, 5 underware, etc) and put the list in the suitcase (3x5 cards work well). Then, when you are packing to go home, empty the suitcase completely and fill it up using your list. This is especially helpful if you travel with kids. Also, if you make a list for your toiletry bag, you can reuse the list to help you pack for your next trip.
