Towels. Tips to use your own towel

I'm reluctant to use a towel, even if it was my own, if it has hung in the bathroom more than a few hours. (Who used it last, and for what?!?!) I've put a hook on the back of each family members' door and we take our towels with us when we've finished in the bathroom. My towel is safe in my room and the bonus is, the "decorator" towels are all anyone sees when they come to visit.
