Buy plastic fishing tackle boxes. I have one for sewing, one for knitting, one for my painting etc. You can use the storage in the lid for bobbins, lace, elastic whatever. For knitting I store all my crochet hooks in the top part. Store all needles secured with a rubber band in sizes etc in the bottom half. Easy to all essentials when needed.
