Have you ever tried to remove the first Vienna sausage from it's can only to have it mashed, broken and you end up with only a fragment of it? There just isn't
enough room in that small can for your fingers to retrieve an entire sausage.
Sitting at my desk one day and faced with this dilemma, I happened upon a solution. Simply take a paper clip, fold out the "outside" end to where it protrudes out 90 degrees. Simply hook this into the side of the first sausage and pull gently. Out it slides, whole and intact. Works great to retrieve the remaining sausages from the can as you enjoy this classic American snack.
