The best way to get grease or dirt off hands with the least amount of damage to the skin is to put a very large dab of hand lotion in hand and massage it into the dirty stains. Leave on for a minute or two and wipe off with paper napkin or paper towels. Do this before washing with soap. It is just a very mild form of GOJO and I always have lotion around. This also works for dry toner under the fingernails if you have a spill while loading your copy machine toner. If toner gets on clothing, if washable fabric, use cold water.
