Using sticky tape and put an envelope on the area of the wall below where you ware going to drill to collect the debris that falls instead of allowing it to fall to the floor. Make sure the envelope is long enough to contain the mess. It may take an extra few minutes to set this up but it will save you time clearing up and from having ground in dirt in your carpets.
