Worried about the person who is selling you a car? Not sure the car isn't stolen or previously involved in a wreck? Then ask the vendor whether they would mind you taking a photograph of them with their vehicle. A genuine person might think you were weird, but would be happy enough to comply. A thief would run a mile. This also works for receiving personal cheques.
