White spirit to remove a shoe polish stain

If you find yourself tackling a shoe polish stain try the following. Remove all the excess polish using a spoon or knife. Then dab the stain with white spirit. If the stain persist then mix some biological detergent with warm water and rub into the stain until it is gone.
