Candy. Tips to remove Candy stains

Children, guests, and the celebrations that take place in the home often will lead to you finding candy in the carpeting. If you have a candy stain you can get it up using this tip:

Start by scraping or carefully pulling the big chunks of candy from the carpeting. Sometimes using a butter knife or your fingernails you can get the majority of the candy out of the carpeting by carefully picking at the affected area.

The get most candy stains out, a warm water spray and blotting with a paper towel or cloth will work great. The water will break down the sugar and the candy will come right out.

For tougher candy stains, use a mixture of two tablespoons of dish detergent and two cups of water dabbing the area with a wet cloth and then with a dry cloth to bring up the stain. Rinse with clear water and a dry cloth to bring out more of the candy in the carpeting.

For candy stains that leave coloring stains in your carpeting, using a spray bottle with about two cups of water and one cup of vinegar OR one cup of peroxide will bring out the stains that are left in the carpet. Just spray the mixture on the carpet and blot up with a clean cloth to bring the food coloring out of the carpet.
