Soft Drinks, Cola. Tips to remove Soft Drinks, Cola stains on carpets

Drink spills in the home are about inevitable, if you find a soft drink or cola spill in your home, use these tips to bring out the coloring of the soft drink or cola for a clean carpet:

Be sure to first blot up as much of the excess soft drink or cola liquid in the carpet that you can but carefully without spreading the stain out further, just keep dabbing at the carpet to bring out the liquid.

You can proceed and work that soft drink, cola stain out using ammonia on the soft drink, or cola stain to neutralize the area. Never pour the ammonia directly on the carpeting but only on your towel. Put the rubbing ammonia on your cloth and dab at the stain. Dont rub the soft drink or cola stain out any further if you have spilled a lot of it, and dont pour the rubbing ammonia on the carpet, just dab at the stain with your cloth to bring out the stain. Use a wet dry vac on the spill if you have a spilled that is major, like when you have spilled a two-liter of soft drinks.

After you have been working, with the rubbing ammonia and you are not bringing up any more shortening, use a mixture of two cups of water, and two tablespoons of dish liquid, non bleach type and clear. Spray this on the stain and continue dabbing at the stain, changing your cloth around so you will know if you are still bringing up more of the soft drink or cola stain or not, and then repeat until you are no longer bringing out any more soft drink or cola stain or the stain is gone.

Rinse out your carpet using just water and a clean cloth. Spray and dab the area to bring out any remaining soap and loosen the stain more. Allow this to dry for about an half an hour or until it is almost dry.

If you find that you still have a little stain in the carpeting, use a spray of peroxide on the stain. Work the peroxide into the carpeting when you find the soft drink or cola stain is set deep in the carpet. Let it dry, and repeat spraying until the stain is completely gone.
