Dye. Tips to remove Dye stains on clothes and fabric

Dye stains can happen from any number of foods, paints, or other types of materials. If you have a stain that is not coming out because of the coloring in the stain, use these methods to additionally work out that stain.  Be sure to check the fabric tag for further instructions and if these cleaning methods are permitted for the type of fabric that you are treating.

Using a bucket of cool water, soak the fabric in water with all fabric powder bleach.  You should only need to soak the fabric for about ten or fifteen minutes to see the best results. Rinse well in cool water.

If the dye stain still have not come out, treat the area by applying liquid laundry detergent to the stained area and then soak in a bucket of water with liquid bleach. About two cups for three gallons of water.

Let the fabric soak for about ten minutes and rinse. Inspect the stained area once again.

One option that you do have is to use a color stripper and strip all color from the fabric and then you can re dye it again. Most all home centers will carry products that will do this if you want to really save the fabric.
