Ice cream. Tips to remove Ice cream stains on clothes and fabric

Ice cream comes in many flavors and colors. If you have an ice cream stain on your fabrics or clothes, use these cleaning tips to get that ice cream stain out.

Treating the ice cream stain as soon as it occurs is going to give you a much higher success rate but dried stains can still be gotten out.

If the ice cream stain is fresh, be sure to blot up any excess liquid in the fabric.  If the stain is older and dry, scrape off the dried dairy stain using your fingernail or a butter knife.  Try not to stretch the material too much and not to snag the fabric you are working with for the best results.

Pre treat with a stain stick or spray, letting the fabric sit for about ten minutes and then soak the fabric in a bucket of cold water overnight.

Apply clear liquid laundry detergent to the ice cream stained area and launder as usual.  Re inspect the stained area before drying. If the stain is gone you can dry the fabric.

If the ice cream stain remains, soak the fabric in a bucket with three gallons of water and two cups of bleach.  Soak the fabric for about ten minutes.

Rinse the fabric and start over from the pre treatment if the ice cream stain still remains in the fabric.
