Methylated spirits is the UK name for Denatured Alcohol. When buying this try to obtain the colorless variety.

Methylated spirits / Denatured alcohol is used for removing oil based stains and dyes. Used neat, dabbing on the stained area with cotton wool.

If using on colored fabrics always try on a hidden area first. Not recommended for use on acetates.
