Tile and grout cleaner. Make your own Tile and grout cleaner

Get rid of that grimy soap film that forms on and between ceramic bathroom tiles with this easy to make recipe.

To make 3 pints/1.7 liters

  • 8 tablespoons baking powder
  • 5 tablespoons household ammonia
  • 2 floz/60ml white vinegar
  • 2 pints/1.6 liters warm water

Combine the ingredients in a plastic jug or fruit juice container, cover and shake vigorously. Label the container and store it out of the reach of children. For small jobs, fill a pump-type container with the solution; spray directly onto the tile surface, then wipe with a damp sponge or cloth.

Caution Do not mix this cleaner with anything containing bleach.

your recipe makes no sense Comments By: Dawn Stachowicz on 2004-12-15
The measurements make no sense. It says 2oz white vinegar 2 pints
Is it 2 pints or 2 oz?
16oz/1.6 liter water. 16 oz does not make 1.6 liters.
