Hair Gel. Make your own hair gel

You can make your own hair gel that will hold your hair well. All you need is

  • 1 teaspoon of gelatin
  • half cup of warm water

Dissolve the gelatin in the warm water. Once it is dissolved you can use this as you would any hair gel.

not specifying how many grams of hair gel is made Comments By: Timothy Chew (ballless) on 2004-08-30
how do we know how much of hair gel is used. We do not even know how long it will lasts us

TipKing says: It stands to reason that if you are using 1 cup of water that you will end up with 1 cup of gel. I do not think that this product will store for very long.

Any ideas for a plant-derived gelling agent? Comments By: Anon on 2006-03-13
The concept of a simple, natural, home-made hair gel is great. However, any ideas for a vegetable/plant-derived "gelling agent" as opposed to 'gelatin', which is animal derived?

does hair fall off Comments By: John on 2010-04-13
this is a great recepie, and i love it more than regular gel because the hair gets hard like 10-15 minutes after you apply it wich is great if you have medium or long hair. However, after a few weeks, I noticed that my hair fell off. Does the gel affect the hair in this way?
