Stop dogs from scratching their ears

Keep dogs from scratching his ears. With a clean, soft cloth dipped in diluted vinegar wipe around the area that is being scratched.

Another way to keep dogs from scratching their ears is to take a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol and clean the ears.

I tried the cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and it didn't work. My yorkies
ears are clean and NO ear mites...what
else could it be?

Could be allergies Comments By: seagan on 2007-04-25
I have been working with a holistic doctor for months to determine cause (I have a poodle) and found her allergic to common elements in dog food. If all else fails, get her tested and change her food

OMG...Please dont use alcohol on animals with scratching problems...how horrible! That will just make the inflammed area even more on fire.

NO ALCOHOL!!! Comments By: Keri on 2009-04-01
Whoever suggested alcohol is very much in the wrong. Alcohol irritates the wound and causes it to swell. You would think it would cleanse the area, but really it is just an irritant. I agree with the diluted vinegar...but preferably apple cider vinegar. I've always had better results with that for some reason.
