Patchwork Quilts. Tip for making patchwork quilts

When you are preparing to make your new quilt, you can line your new pieced quilt with a pastel sheet or several sheets. With no seams in the sheet you are left with a 'blank' canvas that quilting is going to decorate with your own imagination. Sheets are similar if not cheaper than other types of fabric.

If you are knitting squares for a patchwork cover you may find this tip a time saver.

  • Make the quilt in strips.
  • Knit the first square and then join the next colored thread and move onto the next square.
  • When you have all your strips simply join together.
