Repairs

When your luggage needs minor repairs, reach for your dental floss. Thread it through a sewing needle and use it to fix a ripped strap or torn seam. It's stronger than you think. For best results, use waxed dental floss, which slides through material easily. You can even camouflage the dental floss with a marker or some shoe polish so it blends into your bag.

Turn an empty matchbook into a miniature sewing kit. Stick some needles and safety pins in the bottom, where the matches were. Then wrap a few different colors of thread around the matchbook. Your tiny sewing kit might come in handy during your travels.

Always pack some safety pins in your case. They are invaluable for a quick mend.
