I just wanted to comment and let everyone know that today started putting vaseline on my lashes in the morning, and later on in the day I had to go somewhere I put a touch of mascara it brushed on smoothly and no clumping occured.

the theory behind my reason for using vaseline: i researched mavala doublelash & lipocil - y they work. basically they're simply providing nutrients and most importantly, additional moisture flow. so i reasoned, since vaseline lubricates things, it wouldn't hurt to spread a thin layer top and bot after showering or facial cleanse

About three months ago, I began applying Vaseline to my eyelashes...wow, it works great! My eyelashes have gotten longer and less of them fall out. The lashes remain stronger, and more flexible, take mascara and curl better. I apply a coat bottom and top of the lashes at night, and in the morning, wash it off in the shower. Just don't apply eye makeup while wearing the vaseline or your makeup will smudge TERRIBLY. Make sure it's all off before doing your eye makeup. Otherwise, expect results because this is some kicka** stuff.

Hi you all, hmmm at first while browsing i saw this site and come up with longer eyelashes while using vaseline. Well believe it or not, by GOD's GRACE my eyelashes are a bit longer than it were previouly. I'm really happy and I'm continuing in this application.

I never really though anything of my lashes but i've been applying this stuff everynight before i go to bed and they do look much longer!!

I think this also works for fuller brows, when i've over plucked my eyebrows or have any uneven areas i just apply vaseline petroleum jelly n the hairs are back in no time :O

WOW. I honestly dnt know what happened to my eyelashes. they use to be long, but half of them i burned off (accidently) and i think mascara had a little to do with it too. It Suxs!! cus it was one of my best features. so lately i've started applying false eyelashes (the single ones) they look really real, and that way i thought i can let my lashes breath. I ran out of lotion to put away my mascara at night so I used vaseline. It was doing the job, I found that convenient and didn't used anything else. Few weeks later, I noticed ,I had longer, softer eyelashes , it was a great surprise.. I could not believe it so I checked on the net ,and Surprise, it is real, it's working for you too, I wish I knew that before I never had beautiful eyelashes ( I am 52 and still sexy!!!)...

$2.50 for a small jar of Vaseline in Australia. Surely with all the stuff it can do shouldn't it be more expensive?

As I said, Vaseline is a miracle! I am Asian and I have short and straight eyelashes. One day, I read the theory that Vaseline makes your eyelashes grow longer. And it does! I've been using Vaseline on my lashes for nearly a week now and the results are wonderful. I find it much easier to curl my eyelashes, and my eyelashes look really smooth, and most important notably longer!

For those people who don't know how to apply it on, you just stick your index finger in the jar and take out a small bit. Put your finger in front of your eyelashes and blink so your eyelashes touch your finger. Keep blinking until you have covered your entire top lash with Vaseline. For the bottom lashes, just wipe on the Vaseline like you would wipe lip gloss on your lips, although you must be more gentle.

I would also recommend using Vaseline on your eyebrows. If you have eyebrows that you would like to grow thicker, just wipe Vaseline on it. Also, it is quite good for shaping your eyebrows.

yes it works, and it even is the best thing for removing eye make-up. The way to put in on, take a q-tip and stick it in the jar. Apply it like the q-tip is your mascara. If you get to much on,wipe gently with a tissue. I never wore vaseline with mascara at the same time, that will end up in a smudgy mess. Good luck with your beautiful eyes.

It works. But don't get too frustated if you don't see the results right away. Everyone is different. Some have the results within a week. For some others, it takes weeks or even months. All you need to have is patience and dedication. It will definately work for you. Just be sure to apply it every night before you go to bed. I stand by my word. =]

Your eyes won't stick together in the morning. Mine are usually a little smudgy when I wake up though, but it's not a problem as long as you wash your eyes off. I use johnsons tearless baby shampoo on my eyes in the shower and that gets it off really well. WHOOO! haha.

ok, idk if anyone knows what trich (trichotillomania) is but i have it. i plucked all of my eyelashes out. they are finally starting to grow back, but i want them to grow faster, longer and thicker...will this work for eyelashes that arent completely there? like it makes already existing lashes longer, but will it make eyelashes that are growing back grow faster?

I've searched on google for how to grow longer lashes and found out that vaseline was the cheapest product. I just bought a travel size jar of vaseline for under a $1 and used it today. My lashes may be short, but I actually have thick lashes, so I was pleasantly surprised that vaseline made my eyelashes seem even thicker. Yay for vaseline and I hope my eyelashes grow like everyone else's. I tried it on my eyebrows too since some areas tend to be sparse than others, it also made my eyebrows seem thicker and darker.

I am using an old tooth brush to apply the vaseline and once I have done that I am curling them so they grow upwards.

I suspose any vaseline works I personaly use the rosy lips one [PINK/RED TIN]

my eyes are very sensitive when it comes to mascara use so when i came upon an article in the glamour magazine NOt saying that it'll make your lashes grow but it can be used in place of mascara... i tried it. it works wonders. it looks like i have mascara on even when i didnt, and actually my lashes do appear longer than the were before... so i would give five thumbs up to vaseline if i had them but two thumbs up will do...

hey, do you all put it on your lower eyelashes too? The reason I ask is because I had a stye and I had to pluck a few hairs so that it would heal better (which it did). It does work if your somebody suffering from trich (like me), it helps resist the need to pull as your lashes are slippery and it takes about 2 days to see a little bit of a difference, by 2 weeks, people with trich, people will never know you suffer from it :)

It took about 5 mins on each eye, but it came off in the end.

I got a bad eyebrow wax tha scraped off part of my skin beneath my right eyebrow (yes, it hurt like crazy). So, I started applying vaseline on my on the scrape to heal it, and some of it inevitably got on my eyebrows. By Day 2, i started noticing that my right eyebrow was darker and better looking than my left eyebrow. So I googled "Vaseline on Eyebrows" and ran into you guys.

Now, I have started applying it on both eyebrows and my eyelashes. Come to think of it, I re-call getting a make-over at MAC, and the Make-up artist advicing me to put vaseline on my eyebrows to grow them out. Back then, I thought she was crazy so I never tried it. I guess she was right afterall. LOL!

I remember doing this in my teenage years when I had lots of time on my hands - eventually they grew so long I didn't worry about doing it anymore but recently I have just reached fifty years of age and I've noticed that my eye lashes are not what they used to be. it really does work, ive been putting it on every night before bed and they are definatley somewhat longer and thicker but they also look healthyer and shiny. i find using a clean eyelash comb and applying it like you would with mascara works best :-)

Vaseline does work on making the lashes longer and fuller! I tried it for a week and my lashes are gradually getting fuller and longer. I use it in the morning before my mascara and before bedtime. I recently read this, and i've now been applying vaseline on my eyelashes dialy and its working, also on my eyebrows, as i want thicker eyebrows, it also is really good for shaping them. So to me it sounds like vaseline has an effect on the speed of hairgrowth, or so it does for eylashes and eyebrows, this might sound crazy, but wont it then have the same effect on the hair on my head, say if i apply it to my roots, becuase i want to grow my hair and it just grows way to slowly. I used eyelash extensions for nearly 3 years (the jinnylash ones)and i ended up with bald eyes after they were removed basically, when i finally plucked up the courage to take the horrible extensions out i decided to try vaseline as i'd heard it makes it makes it easier for eyelashes to grow. And yes it does work, i think by providing extra moisture so they dont become brittle as my lashes are nicer now then before i started using the extensions. They are long and shiny. Fabulous stuff is vaseline :-)

I noticed everyone was wearing mascara and their lashes looked alot longer then mine, so I looked up for ways to get lashes longer without mascara, and I found Vaseline ^^ My mum said ''but doesn't it stick them together?'' so I just laughed. I use vaseline for so many things, always on my lips, eyelashes I use it on my eyelashes at night when i've used mascara, by that i mean ,i dont remove the mascara, i just put vaseline on top and in the morning just wipe it away. Back in the 1900's it was mix with soot, the first mascara began. I also use it as a face cream at night, you can not bet it for dry skin. I recently went to a wedding where they had a professional makeup artist doing the bridesmaids makeup. the mother of the bride was complaining about her eyelashes becoming thinner with age and asked the makeup artist to suggest a good mascara. after suggesting one the makeup artist also told her to apply vaseline at night to make them grow longer and fuller. she told us it was a secret of the professionals. i will be trying this tonight and hoping it works but from all the comments im sure it will!

I've been putting on vaseline for a bout 3 weeks now and not much has changed. I used the Vaseline Baby which is kinda the same as the vaseline but its hypoallergenic. My eyelases are the same length (its average). Sometimes little strands fall off but they said it would grow back longer so I don't really know. I really hope so. The only thing weird is when I put it on and blink several times, all the vaseline will just end up at the end of my lashes. It doesn't really stay on the lashes. I don't know if I'm doing it right but I guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

my lashes were always long, but mascara broke them off a little bit. I read online that vaseline would make them grow, so i tried. after a few weeks, they were much longer! i still wear mascara everyday, but i wash it off at night and then apply the vaseline and it moisturizes and strengthens them as well as helping them grow. I've heard unpure vaseline might cause cancer (since it is a derivate from petrol) but every thing these days cause cancer anyway...

I would suggest to put it every night before going to sleep, but not in the morning since it makes your lashes look very greasy (although if you apply mascara on them, it isn't as apparent).

It has worked for my eyelashes and eyebrows (I think there are some tips about Castor Oil as well). It worked better on my lashes though (sometimes I think it's just my imagination that my eyebrows actually thickenned).

Be careful not to put Vaseline everywhere since you can grow unwanted hair that way.

It works people, just different quality of results for everyone!

Iv always been DESPERATE for long lashes :( anyhoo i didnt really notice any change but kept on trying. Iv been curling my eyelashes since i was 13...im 19 now, sometimes 1 or 2 would catch and fall out as they do with curlers, but in September i had 14, yes 14 lashes IN A ROW fall out in 1 day off 1 eye when i was curling, (i looked bizarre for weeks!!) the pad didnt need changing and theyre good ones, so i dont know why, id say only half have grown back, im still 'gappy' and now have smaller gaps (5 or 6 lashes in 2 parts) on the other eye. Im gutted by this but i cant find any other reason as to why my eyelashes would suddenly be falling out now after 6 years, than the vaseline. Sorry :(

I know for a fact vaseline thickens hair because when i had my lip pierced, i had all dry skin around the area where it was pierced so i applied petroleum jelly to help the dry skin go away, i then noticed the next day that where i'd applied the vaseline, the hairs which were thin, un-noticeable and a blonde/ white colour had turned thicker and darker! So i've always had lashes that were semi plump. They weren't the best but I was satisfied with them. i started wearing fake lashes and all my lashes came with them wen I took them off (only because I didn't use remover to take them off), but I started putting vaseline on my lids at night and in 2 days I already saw significant results. I have Vaseline with Aloe Vera in a little pocket-size tin, and its for lips. I started this a couple of days ago, and even while i was applying it I could see that my eyelashes were curling up abit! I'm half chinese, and I have naturally short and straight lashes. Scince i've used Vaseline my eye lashes are deffinatley getting thicker and curling up more! It's great, even my friends are starting to notice!

I apply it using one of those little eyebrow grooming brushes (like a bit of a tooth brush on one side and a little comb on the other). I slide the brush through the vaseline and hold it to my eye and blink, and then comb the little clumps out. It really is working great, I love it! I do it every night and apply a little in the morning before I do my make-up. I've also noticed i don't have clumps with my mascara now! I'm so happy with the result, I used to be so paranoid about having short eyelashes.

Hey girls its been a month since I started using vaseline on my brows and lashes. At first I was like blah not seeing results accept for my eyelashes being softer. Today i noticed ,wow they look so much longer! I don't know why or how it happened, I just seem to have ended up with a like, centimetre gap in my right set of eyelashes. it's been like this for about 3 or 4 months now. they just won't grow back. I have little eyelashes starting to grow, but before they get long enough to fill out my lashes they fall out :(

I use mascara every day (I have pretty short lashes and would just look super weird without it), but I don't curl them and never pick off my mascara. I don't know what to do. it's so frustrating because I can't emphasise my eyes without them looking weird. I am going to try the vaseline trick and I'll report my findings. I am asian. and asians like me have short eyelashes but are dead straight and Would not Curl!

I already have pretty long, soft lashes but I like to use lots of mascara and since then my lashes aren't exactly what they used to be. The mascara has seemed to make them a little dry and a few have fallen out from trying to take off CoverGirl LastBlastVolume WaterProof Mascara (which by the way is a FANTASTIC product, really makes my eyelashes pop and brings attention to my eyes) but it is extremely 1OO% waterproof so its quite difficult to take off, it sould last you like a whole 2 days and no flaking what so ever for me. There are many factors as to why eyelashes fall out. It can be caused by stress, medication and/or a medical condition. If your eyelashes are falling out I would look up other symptoms of hypothryoidism and see if you have any. If you have other symptoms with the loss of eyelashes, I would consult a doctor especially if you're over 30. Make sure the doctor tests both your T3 and T4 levels. The reason you lashes fall out due to this condition is that they are brittle so any type of moisturizing will help. Petroleum jelly, vitamin e oil, etc. Also take a B complex vitamin... good for hair, skin and nails. Good luck!

This stuff is unbelieveably really good. It's been about a week when I started using it and i've noticed that my lashes are considerably more fuller and darker. I have also have noticed that my lashes seem to be growing in length too. Tip: If you want them to grow like crazy, DON'T use mascara everyday during your time using vaseline(unless you really have to) because it dries out your lashes and makes them break. But when you DO use mascara they look fake, even with just a little. It's amazing. I'll post back in 2-3 weeks to keep you guys updated. :]

I have used vaseline to remove eyemakeup and have put on my eyelids/eyelashes everynight for 30 years. I am 46 now. I have no sign of crows feet at all. My lashes are soft and conditioned. I am not sure if they make the grow but I have great lashes so maybe it does work. Just never thought of it that way. It only costs pennies a night and can't hurt you like other products out there. ladie vaseline really does grow your lashes!! y? well ur eyelashes are just like your hair- you have to moisturise and condition it in order orde for it to grow nicely and be healthy, if you don't you hair will break. vaseline acts as a hair oil/conditioner that stops it from breaking and helps it to grow. its like this- would you put stuff on your hair that temporarily makes your hair appear longer and fuller and leave it on while knowing fully well that it is breaking you hair? no. so why do the same for your eyelashes. i'm telling you vaseline is a GOD SEND!! :) gd luck!! xxx

This is no joke it really works! I tried it! Eyebrows or eyelashes.

But I'm sure the vaseline lotion doesn't work sadly.

When you wake up which should probably be in the morning for most of you put it on and before you go to bed. (Every single day until it grows as much.)

But when you have makeup on don't put it on.

I don't know how long it will take but keep on doing it until it grows as much as you want it to.

Be patient because it will not work in just one day it might get curlier which is prettier than straight but still don't expect it to go really fast because it is different for all people.
Don't put too much.
Why? It might get in your eye and who knows what happens if it does. Or for your eyebrows i just heard it was bad to put too much.

Now, I'm asian so my eyelashes are pretty thin, although they aren't too short at the end of my eye, you CAN NOT see them at all. I put vaseline total moisture body cream with vitamin e, and b5 onto my eyelashes, not the petroleum jelly one cuz i have none of that. It really does work!!!! My eyelashes are now softer and longer, of course not too significantly but definitely an improvement. The ones at my eyes' ends are now starting to curl a bit too!My only problem is putting it on. the vaseline always gets into my eye and stuff. I heard about the Vaseline trick a long time ago in some magazine my mom reads, so I decided to try it... and, you know, it really does work. My lashes are already long and thick, but applying Vaseline daily really just makes them amazing.

It doesn't really matter how you apply it, as long as you're getting it on your lashes. I put mine on, by using one of those eyebrow brush/eyelash comb combo things, and just put some Vaseline on the comb part, then comb it onto my lashes like you would comb them before/after you apply mascara.

Good luck, and yes, try it out. =D No need to pay a lot of money for lash-enhancing products like Latisse and junk, when all you need is a cheap little jar of Vaseline =]

i tried this last year on my cousin's eyelashes and mine and theyyyy woooorrrkeeed beautifully!!!!! i put it on hers one night and stopped but 3 or 4 days later they were noticeably longer and i was like "WOOOOOAHH" <3 and my friends omg your eyelashes are soo long

Hi! I use vaseline as a substitute for mascara as I'm 12 and am not allowed to wear it. I haven't found that it *grows* my eyelashes but it does starighten them out a big and seperate them from each other quiet well.
So, for me, it doesn't really make my eyeslashes grow but rather makes them *appear* to grow.

So i wanted to curl my lashes...and i didn't know that you were suppose to curl before the mascara. When I pulled the curler away it took a whole section of my lashes with it. The way vaseline works is by protecting the lashes from breaking off on your pillow (mascara can make them brittle) so they grow to their natural maximum length. It will also make them silkier but doubt if it affects the actual hair thickness. So glad so many people know about this - my Dad told me to do it when I was 12 and jealous of my brother's lashes. ohh my goshh, this is soo good! I tried it last week and noticed practically immediate results! My eye lashes had been getting really thin and horrible because I wear so much mascara, but even without mascara people thought my lashes were good. But I didn't like them compared to wearing loads of mascara, but because the mascara was destroying my lashes, I needed a way for them to look as nice. and this worked! :) I'm really pleased.
The other great thing about Vaseline is that its great for a base on your face, it makes your make up look better and stops dry skin. I discovered this a while ago because I needed a way to cover my dry skin but still wear foundation so that it looks smooth. :) I love vaseline <3

Vaseline really works 4 all that are curious... I started using Vaseline along w/ castor oil & in just 2 wks ...I asked my hubby did he see a change in my lashes & he replied " Yeah if you would take off those false lashes!...I said "Baby I don't have any lashes on!...Wow in just two weeks...Here are the list of things 2 get...1)wash out an old eyelash brush 2)a jar of Vaseline 3) go buy some castor oil 4)purchase a mini slender artist paint brush or a eyeliner wand - Now once you have all your item ..go in front of a mirror & wash your eyelashes take a clean face cloth blot your eyelashes dry 2)than take your eyeliner wand that you would use to apply liguid eyeliner w/ and if you have one that's old wash it really good w/ mild soap until all old eyeliner residue is gone this is important so you don't get any infection Please clean all items before & after use for hygiene purposes 3) than take your liner brush dip into castor oil & close the eye of your choice and take the brush and stroke it across the top lash base just like your apply eyeliner on it 4) than do the same with the next eye 5) than if you want you can repeat the same method for the bottom lashes...6) than take your Vaseline and use your index finger & dip it into the jar a dap small amounts onto your lashes both sides than 7) than take mascara brush and brush your lashe really good and careful in an upward just like you are applying mascara on them get good into the base .. and do this every night ... I've been using Mavala Double Lash for about 3 1/2 weeks now. So far I have noticed some eyelash growth however, it's sporadic and some lashes are apparently longer than the others. I have relatively short eye lashes and I recently got out of my phase of wearing false eyelashes. Since I stopped wearing my false eyelashes I don't feel as attractive and I realised that I became very dependent on my lashes. HI guys, just letting you know i have been using paw paw ointment on my lashes as I have no vaseline. paw paw ointment works In my belief better than vaseline, it is not made from crude oil, however it is more expensive at around 7 to ten dollars. I will let you know how it goes after a month or so. not sure about putting it on your hair roots but coconut oil does wonders for hair, my hair is so dry and ruined from a hairdresser melting it off. I have been using cocunut oil for a month and I dont have dry hair no more and less knots and I ride a motor bike so the improvement is huge. worth a try at least, so long as your not allergic..

I have been using this for a week now, and I can notice a difference. I apply it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. just applied some vas line onto my eye lashes, at first they feel really wet and heavy but I'm sure in the morning they do a wonder us I use mascara and eye lash curlers,will that help to?

Lost almost all of my eyelashes after getting the extensions!! My real and fake lashes started coming out! Fake lashes are beautiful but are horrible for lashes and such expensive upkeep!! Seriously hope this helps. My boyfriend is a makeup artist and for eyeliner sometimes he does this technique where you turn over a coffee cup, burn the bottom with a lighter and make a soot and mix with a little vaseline! I see improvement already my lashes are softer and more standing out this week ill apply again once before bed so it will penetrate my lashes I use my finger or mascara wand to apply vaseline to my top lashes only. I honestly have so many little jars of vaseline at home, its evrywhere. I used to have very dry skin and my mum told me that vaseline helps alot more than a normal lotion would. anyway, so recently ive been thinking like a dummy!! i had nice long full eyelashes then i got extensions on em to make em look way thicker and so my real lashes fell out with the fake ones. T_T i decided to trim my real ones so that the lashes that fell out would grow back with it.. now i have uneven lashes ughh. i searched for answers on the internet and most of em said vaseline's the way to go so now i have vaseline on my eyelashes and they look thicker and softer already!! (no joke)

I've been doing this for several weeks. I don't think it is actually making them grow, but just like clear mascara which gives the illusion of wet lashes which also darkes them to make them appear longer. Mascara does go on smoother.

I started applying Vaseline to my eyelashes 4 DAYS ago, twice per day. I have already noticed that my eyelashes fall less than before. I don�t have many of them, and they are not very long or thick, so I need to keep them all! Still 1 or 2 eyelashes fell each day, until now (catastrophic, I know). I think they look a bit longer already, although it might be because normally my longest eyelashes fell. In any case, they start to look THICKER and they are definitely STRONGER, so I�m quite happy already. I�m looking forward to see what happens in a month or so! I have read that putting vaseline on your lashes will miraculously make them grow. I started doing this six days ago and don't see a bit of growth. However, I am only putting it on at night. I guess I will start in the morning too. I will not give up. I will continue until my little bottle of Vaseline (blue top) is gone. Right now they are about a quarter inch long.

So my friend told me about vasaline so i tried it. It seriously does work, i suggest to everyone to go buy it! My eyelashes have grown so much longer and have gotten thicker. I look so much prettier without makeup on, also! :) LOVE THIISS. TRY IT! You wont regret it; you have NOTHING to loose! Unless you want your eyelashes short?

I read everyones comments after I googled "growing longer lashes" so, I've been to a few sites and researched that vaseline and lip-balm (or chapsticks) have the same ingredients so it works the same way. Flavoured ones work best. My sister and I tested ourselves, one with vaseline, one with lip-balm. Both works and makes your lashes curlier and longer overtime.

vasaline doesnt make them grow longer, however it does make them stroger and healthy because its conditioning your eyelashes therefore the stronger the hair it wont fall out as quikly so it will obviously grow for a longer period of time.

OMG!!! I am so excited to find out the scoop on vaseline. I was searching for a serum to use to make lashes longer and I was debating whether to spend the type of money these products are asking for. As I am typing this I am getting soooo excited to the point where I want to reach into my bag on slap on some vaseline now!!! I have mascara on now and would rather wait to wash my face tonight.
