Weekend Escapes, Get Away on a Budget

The year is busy with school, activities, and work, and sometimes you just feel as if you are in need of getting away for a while. Even if you are on a budget you can take a trip out of town, around town, or just out of the house for a while and you can rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. Some suggestions focus on the family get away, but you can apply many of these ideas to getting away from the hustle and bustle of the week, for a refreshed new you.

How can you plan your get away time? First, you need to make sure that you have a free day or two three is even better. You can leave on a Friday night and come back on a Sunday night for a great time that will really leave you feeling relaxed and better.

Next, you have to think about your pets, if you have a pet. Who can take over caring for your pet if you are not at home? In addition, if you do not have any pets you do not have to worry about this little topic. Sometimes you can find local kennels can take additional pets at the last moment, if not find a neighbor or relative that can help take care of your pet for just a few days. If you have a fish, cat, or even a bird, sometimes you can fill their bowls for the time you are gone and use automatic watering systems to take care of your needs.

Turn on your answering machine and you are ready to get going for just a few days!

Where can you go on a tight budget? Head out to see relatives in another city, in another state or take off and see a few friends that you have not seen in a long time. Be sure to make a phone call before you head off to see anyone, as you never know when someone is on his or her way to see you!

Besides going to stay with relatives or friends for a few days, you can head out camping, boating, or to a favorite hunting camp. Even if you are not going hunting or fishing, you can get away from it all and spend some quality quiet time by yourself or with your family for a few days.

What else can you do if you want a little quiet time away from the computer, the radio and work? Pitch a tent in the backyard and leave the phone in the house. Parking your car down the street or in the garage, you can hide out in your own backyard for a little peace and quiet.

Sometimes you do not have to leave your home at all to get a little peace and quiet. You can send the children to their friends for the weekend or just a night. You can let the kids camp out in the yard for the night while you enjoy your quiet evening in the house. You can even have your friends create a club where everyone takes turns taking each others kids for the weekends so every one can have a mini vacation once a month without having to pay a sitter or over extend the budget!

Take a mini vacation in your own home. How? Unplug the phone, turn off the computer, and turn on the radio. Read a good book, take a long hot shower, a swim in the pool, and ignore the world just for a day. You will find that you are going to be so relaxed by the end of the day you are going to feel as if you went away for an entire week!
