Stains. Great advice for stains

Submitted by Ms. Saida Bano

To remove stains (specially oily foods i.e. curry etc.)from drip dry clothes, place cloth over any paper, sprinkle lot of talcum powder on the stain and keep for a few minutes, then brush off the powder and check if stain still there, if still there, use the above procedure again, otherwise immediately wash off the cloth. 90%of the time it removes stains etc.

To remove stains or auto oily marks from cotton cloth, rub the stain or mark with kerosine, methyleted spirit and 75% of stain/mark is removed.

WRONG AGAIN ! Firstly, don't make a spill in the first place, but if you do, pour salt on it as SALT is an ALKALINE and it neutralizes the ACID which is what casues the stain.

Salt is not alkaline Comments By: anon on 2005-07-01
Salt is a salt - the consequence of a reaction between an acid and another element. It is not alkaline & it does not neutralize acid as a previous guest erroneously claims
